Discover Scuba Diving

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience

Have you ever wondered what it is like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out but do not feel ready yet to launch a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving will allow you to try and dive to find out if you like it. The majority of PADI dive shops offer a version of this program, in the pool or in a reservoir. You could try near your home, or when you're on vacation.

Although it is not a real certification course, during the Discover Scuba Diving experience, you will learn how to use the scuba gear in the shallow water and you will get a quick and easy introduction of what the exploration of the underwater world is.

The fun aspect

There is nothing like breathing underwater for the first time ever. It does not take much - of the rest, humans have not been "designed" to do so - and, after a few lightning minutes of wonder, most of the participants understand how really easy the scuba diving is. The greatest challenge that the Instructors of the Discover Scuba Diving program have to face is not that of flattering the participants to enter the water, but rather because they come out when the program is over. The fun aspect? Well ... everything!

Moreover, you can get a credit! If your Discover Scuba Diving program includes a real open water dive, the experience can be credited towards the Open Water Diver certification; an advantage for when you decide to take a complete course.

What do you learn?

Learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. One of the things you will learn is that you can really breathe underwater, whether you like it or not.

Find out how it feels with the diving equipment I wear, how easy it is to move underwater thanks to it what it feels like to breathe underwater and how you can do it easily

You will learn some basic skills and safety rules that, when you take the next step, you will need them for your complete certification course.

The diving equipment you use

Normally, your Discover Scuba Diving experience includes all the equipment you need. You will use all the basic diving equipment, including mask, snorkel and fins, a variable trim jacket complete with scuba tank, a regulator with which to breathe and an instrument to control depth and air supply.
